Scientific paper

A generalized model is proposed for the regular gravitational field of galaxies. The model includes, as its special cases, the models proposed by Miyamoto and Nagai (1975) and by Kuzmin (1956); it also extends to the spatial case a number of other models. The kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the model and its spatial mass distribution are found to be realistic. Various parameters of the model are investigated and constraints due to the positive density requirement are defined.
