Observations of the relative positions of the satellite of Pluto, 1978P1, and of the absolute position of Pluto, and calculations of the Pluto/1978P1 system orbital parameters, mass and times of greatest elongation are presented. It is noted that although a fully resolved observation of the satellite has not yet been reported, measures of the image elongation and orientation permit a reasonably reliable determination of the orbit, particularly the nodal ambiguity.
