The magnetotail topology of the noon-midnight meridian is considered, taking into account the determination of the trajectory of the X line across the tail current sheet. The X line is the line in the current sheet that separates plasma sheet field lines from interplanetary field lines. Attention is given to recent measurements of the boundary layer, the entry layer, and a crossing of the separatrix at the orbit of the moon in terms of the topological sketches.
