This paper generalizes the work of Johnson and Kane (1969) by considering the resonance effect in the motion of two rigid spheroids moving under their mutual gravitational forces and also satisfying four conditions. These are: (1) the inertia ellipsoids of A and B for their respective mass centers are ellipsoids of revolution; (2) the angular velocities of A and B in an inertial frame of reference (R) are initially parallel to the axes of symmetry of A and B respectively; (3) either the distance between the mass centers is large with respect to the major axis of either body or their ellipticities are small; and (4) the mass centers move in a plane whose orientation is fixed in R.
