It is shown that Kunkel's (1971) conclusion about the irrelevance of autocorrelation analysis of brightness observations for the study of UV Ceti flare activity is incorrect. An autocorrelation function is calculated on the basis of 782 observations of UV Ceti conducted between 1966 and 1970. No evidence is found for periodic components with periods less than or equal to 30 h in the flare activity of this star.
