Evidence of the existence of a massive compact object in the galactic center is presented. It is based on the distribution of gas in the central few parsecs of our galaxy. The gas ring is described as a viscous accretion disk and its sharp inner edge is used as a diagnostic tool to get information about the underlying mass distribution. The result indicates that there is only a small amount of mass between the ring's inner edge and a central object.
