The recent discovery of the high redshift quasar HS1700+6416 and repeated observations of the Seyfert 1 galaxy Fairall 9 reveal a striking difference between their continuous spectral shape in the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV). A geometrically thin alpha disk model cannot account for the energetic EUV continuum observed in HS1700+6416. The EUV spectral shape of F9 fits the predictions from the thin accretion disk model. These results suggest the existence of a difference between Seyfert 1 galaxies and quasars, the former having a cooler bump than the latter.
