High-spectral resolution observations of the H-apha profile in the RR Ly star RX Eri are presented together with accurate light curves (Geneva photometric system) and a radial velocity curve deduced from metallic lines (Coravel). These new data show evidence that two weak H-alpha emission components occur respectively during hump and bump phases as in the RR LY star X Ari (Gillet and Crowe, 1988). If the Schwarzschild explanation for double H-alpha absorption lines is correct, it implies a high shock-front velocity (about 60 km/sec) and a supersonic infalling motion (about 50 km/sec), which produce a shock wave of large amplitude (about 110 km/sec). The above shock front velocity is significantly larger than that deduced from the radial velocity curve of metallic absorption lines.
