Observations at 3.5 microns are presented for 39 Seyfert galaxies and
are used with existing photometric and spectroscopic data to discuss the
continuum radiation from the galaxies. It is concluded that there is an
unreddened nonthermal continuum from class 1 Seyfert galaxies. Limits on
the bolometric luminosities of these objects are derived.
