The content and isotopic composition of lithium in four olivine-hypersthene chondrites, one enstatite-chondrite, one carbonaceous-chondrite and one achondrite have been determined. The lithium concentrations lie between 0.9 and 1.8 ppm. The isotopic composition has been compared with that in granite G-l, diabase W-l and lithium carbonate standard (NBS). The meteoritic and terrestrial Li 7 / Li 6 isotope ratios agree within 2 per cent.
