Solar Activity Cycles: Solar-Terrestrial Relations

Scientific paper

The results of a comparative moving periodogramanalysis of data on solar activity and solar-terrestrial relations over the past 400 years are considered. The data used include the time series of the annual Wolf number, aa-index and recurrence of borealis aurorae, abundances of cosmogenic isotopes 10Be in dated polar ice cores, cosmogenic 14C and stable 13C isotopes in tree rings and monthly air temperature in Central England. It is shown that a cycle with a period of about 22 years not only, manifests itself but moreover dominates in all the analysed series corresponding to the Maunder minimum (1645 - 1715 AD). The peculiarities of the Schwabe cycle manifestation over the past three centuries are considered.
