Precision measurements of microwave background fluctuations open a new window into the physics of the early universe. In Fall 2000, NASA will launch the Microwave Anisotropy Probe (MAP). If MAP detects adiabatic fluctuations, as predicted by inflationary scenarios, then it will be able to accurately measure the basic cosmological parameters, the density, expansion rate and baryon density of the universe. If we combine this data with measurements of the large-scale stucture, we can further refine these parameters. I will review the current observations of the microwave background and look forward to new measurements.
