The apparent effect on various cosmological observations caused by a distorted distance-redshift relation due to oscillations in the Hubble parameter is studied. A massive nonconformal scalar field model is used which is designed to explain the recently observed periodicity in the redshift distribution of galaxies. Model predictions are compared with observations, and a new method to determine the present Hubble parameters by measuring time rather than distance is proposed.
