Scientific paper

B and V photometry of AB Doradus, obtained in 2007 March-April, revealed a spot-wave near 0.08 mag in V, and of comparable size in B. The phase of spot minimum was well described by the standard ephemeris. Further photometry from 2007 December-2008 March indicated a slightly greater amplitude with minimum light now about 0.1 of a rotation cycle earlier in phase. The overall brightness of the star at these two epochs was amongst the lowest ever observed and was consistent with AB Dor's previously suggested 20-year activity cycle. A long-term B-V variation is also seen.
