Cygnus X-1 was observed with the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer in December
1996. Light curves from this observation have been analyzed in the
context of shot noise models. A peak detection algorithm was applied in
order to isolate individual shots. Distributions of some parameters of
the shots are investigated.
