Eclipses, occultations, and transits are discussed, giving examples. It
is pointed out that the sun passing behind the moon should be classified
as an occulation rather than as an eclipse. In the Jupiter system,
eclipses, transits, and occultations are frequently observed for Io,
Europe, and Ganymede.
