H I observations around SNR G 357.7-0.1 (MSH 17-39) were made. It is found that around this object there is an expanding H I shell with the diameter of 168 pc and H I mass about 1.5×104M_sun;. The most probable mechanism of formation of this shell is stellar wind outflow from the star during its evolution on the main sequence. Estimates of the stellar mass (55 M_sun;) and of the gas mass ejected during the supernova explosion (47 M_sun;) were made.
