The radial profile of the Fornax dwarf elliptical galaxy has been obtained based on automated star counts on UK Schmidt plates. The best model fits are achieved with a tidal radius of 108 + or - 3 arcmin and a core radius of 16.7 + or - 1.8 arcmin. The low galactic mass value of about 3.7 + or - 1.9 x 10 to the 10th solar masses obtained suggests that the halo dwarfs have not yet reached tidal equilibrium. The present results do not contradict the hypothesis that the halo dwarfs are the results of ram-pressure stripping of DI systems by the galactic halo.
