A deep visual-red and near infrared objective prism spectral survey of the Milky Way (-5° ≤ b ≤ +5°, 30° ≤ l ≤ 165°) has been done. The limiting visual magnitudes of the survey are 16m.0 (IIIa-F, IIIa-J) and 18m.0 (IV-N). More than one thousand new carbon stars are revealed. A list of seventeen new C stars with identification charts is given.
