The atmospheric nitrogen dioxide is observed from the ground using a filter photometer in absorption on the sun and the moon in the visible spectrum. Methods to calibrate the instrument and simultaneous spectral measurements are described. The diurnal, seasonal, and latitude variations of the total atmospheric NO2 deduced from one year measurements are presented.
