A total of 110 new Zeeman spectrograms of the Beta Lyrae binary system have been obtained using the 6-meter telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the USSR. The dispersion of the spectrograms was 9 A/mm. The effective magnetic field strengths of ionized-metal emission lines in Beta Lyr were calculated based on the expression He = 52.7 D(4500/lambda) sq Delta L/z, where D is the spectrogram dispersion; Delta L is the measured line-splitting (in microns); and z is the Lande factor. The estimated mean effective magnetic field strength was -1400 gauss with a variation of plus or minus 600 gauss corresponding to the orbital period of Beta Lyr. The continuous spectrum of Beta Lyr exhibited a depression at 5200 A, and the maximum depth of the depression was found in relation to the peak strengths of the magnetic field.
