Results are presented for JKLMN photometry of Nova Cygni 1975 performed in the period from August 29, 1975, through June 1976. Data analysis yields a shell radius of about 800 solar radii at maximum light, an absolute magnitude of -10.2, a distance of 1.1 to 1.2 kpc, a shell mass of 0.00001 to 0.00005 solar mass, and an electron density of the order of 10 billion per cu cm. Hypotheses are considered concerning the nature of the 5-micron IR excess and the nova's lack of a dust shell. Spectra obtained in the region from 0.6 to 2.5 microns near maximum light are provided which show the rapid development of strong emission.
