The Galloway et al. (1978) simple model of the dynamical effect of magnetic flux sheets on two-dimensional magnetoconvection is used to show that, if the flux is sufficiently strong, steady states may be attained in which the flux is distributed unevenly between the cell boundaries. The model is further applied to the elucidation of the criterion for this bifurcation, facilitating the study of the interaction of several sheets. Attention is given to the relevance of the results obtained to the solar convection zone.
