Attention is given to the first results of a study on the chemistry of individual chondrules in unequilibrated and poorly equilibrated chondrites. The reported data refer to the poor equilibrated H-4 Mafra chondrite. The petrological features of the Mafra chondrite are considered along with the separation of chondrules and sample selection, details regarding the chemical analysis, and the chemical results. The nature of the chondrule source material is discussed, and a description is provided of the element fractionation patterns between chondrules and chondrite components.
