Photoelectric photometry in yellow light was performed to obtain the light curve of the eclipsing binary star MR Cygni. A computer-aided solution including the use of both geometrical and optical depth equations for optimal curve fittings is described which overcomes the convergence problem of Kopal's iterative method. The accuracy of the new solution is discussed.
