Universal time service from 1966 to 1975 in China is reviewed, including astronomical time observation, the nationwide joint system of time measurement, the rapid service procedure, and the control of time signal transmission. System and instrument errors are analyzed, and correction data are presented. The long-term stability of this Chinese time service is estimated for comparison with the international BIH system and the Soviet system.
