Results are presented for continuum observations of 1194 optically bright galaxies at 1400 MHz, made with the NRAO 300-foot transit telescope. A total of 248 radio sources were detected within 3 arcmin of 296 galaxies. The radio-source position uncertainty is generally less than 2 arcmin. Flux densities, estimated flux-density errors, positions, and some optical data are given. The 48 detections below 0.1 Jy are often dubious and seriously incomplete. About 16 detections between 0.05 and 0.7 Jy can be expected to be chance coincidences between radio sources and galaxies at the same position. For statistical purposes, the 898 undetected galaxies are also listed with individual detection limits ranging from 0.05 Jy in most cases to 0.5 Jy in some cases of heavy confusion. A histogram is given of radio-minus-optical magnitude, which is corrected for the incompleteness of the observations. The corresponding probabilities are computed under the assumption of different detection limits, considering the actual detections below that limit as spurious. There is a slight indication that relatively radio-bright galaxies may occur more frequently with optically faint galaxies. A radio luminosity function is derived that agrees, within the observational uncertainties, with earlier determinations, including one derived from the same observations with a different method.
