Potassium and noble gas determinations have been made for 20 specimens from the H5 chondrite, Jilin, 13 of which came from the surface of the present main mass, and the remainder from the strewn field. Differences in concentration of cosmic ray-produced He-3, Ne-21, and Ar-38(Me) by factors of 5, 6, and 7, respectively, are indicative of a complex irradiation history and are compatible with a short 4Pi irradiation and an extended one in 2Pi geometry at shallow depth. Low Ar-36/Ar-38 ratios in clean metal samples are interpreted as the combined effect of large size and the transient lowering of this ratio, due to a sudden increase in production rates upon going from 2Pi to 4Pi irradiation.
