The analytical expression for the brightness distribution of the K corona as a function of the distance from the centre of the solar disk, B(ρ), is obtained under the assumption of the hydrostatic density distribution at T = const. It is shown that the standard form of numerous observed dependences ln B(ρ) is connected mainly with the validity of the above-mentioned simple assumptions in the layers above the inner corona which consists of closed loops. A convenient method is suggested for the determination of the temperature in the corona at the levels (1.2 - 2.5)R_sun; from the centre; the values T ≈ 1.5×106K at equatorial latitudes and T ≈ 1.1×106K in polar regions of the "minimum" corona are obtained.
