Polarization data on 20 members of the Pleiades cluster were examined for evidence of the presence of pre-main-sequence (PMS) stars. Ten of the stars with previously reported unusual UV wavelength dependences of polarization were scanned with 10 arcsec or better resolution in the period 1979-1982. The data contained statistically significant variations from a definite wavelength dependency and were consistent with interstellar sources, rather than circumstellar shells. Polarization data on 10 other candidates exhibiting excessive reddening and situated above the zero age main sequence position of the H-R diagram yielded nine objects deserving of further spectroscopic studies to rule out the possibility that they are binary systems and can be monitored for turn-on.
