An efficient and reliable method is developed for the derivation of short spacing data missing from a radio interferometer observation, without the use of single dish data. The same approach is shown to apply to other instances of localized missing or damaged spatial frequency data. The method is based upon a direct fit of the missing Fourier coefficients to the (non-linearly) isolated map plane response.
