New rotation measure data are calculated from recent linear polarization observations for extragalactic radio sources in the direction of the Gum Nebula area. An analysis of these rotation measures, in conjunction with a model of the Gum Nebula or with a tangential view to an arm, sheds more light on the magnetic field distribution in the region. The observations are consistent with a shell model of the Gum Nebula whose magnetic field in the shell is about 2×10-6 gauss. This "magnetic bubble" is the third to be found near the Sun.
