Cluster abundances of a hot nuclear medium are determined within a quantum statistical model calculation for symmetric matter. It is suggested that differences between the elemental abundances of the cosmic-ray source and those of the solar system may be characterized in terms of different freeze-out thermodynamic parameters. The possible energy dependence of these parameters is discussed.
