A discussion is presented of atomic processes and other data relevant to the interpretation of Solar Maximum Mission observations of Ca XIX, with reference to the Bely-Dubau et al (1982) analyses of He-like Ca spectra. Attention is given to autoionization, dielectronic recombination, and cascades, and an attempt is made to determine the optimum set of atomic data that might be used to interpret the Ca XIX observations.
