An analysis of 577 photometric measurements of HR 3562 is presented. This star is a photometric variable with a peak-to-peak amplitude of about 0m.04 in the V filter. Three periods (1d.97, 1d.73, 1d.66) are found in the data obtained during two successive years of monitoring. The photometric amplitudes of these oscillation modes have changed by a factor of up to 2 between the two seasons. HR 3562 can be classified as a slow variable star. The photometric variability of the 53 Per stars (i.e. line variable B-type stars) measured in the Geneva system is analysed. The large majority of these stars represents photometric variables. Thus, the differentiation between 53 Per stars and slow variable stars could result only from the different methods of detection (spectroscopy or photometry).
