The polarization data of type III bursts at 35 MHz was used to correct the observed degree of polarization for the depolarization due to the Farady dispersion within the receiver bandwith. The analysis was carried out for 106 individual bursts. It was found that in the case of highly polarized type III bursts, the two components of linearly and circularly polarized bursts cannot be used to represent the elliptically polarized type III burst radiation.
