The results of white dwarf model atmosphere investigations are considered along with studies concerned with an inclusion of non-LTE effects in model atmosphere computations. It is found that most of the outstanding spectral features of the O and early B stars are now predicted by non-LTE models. Other investigations discussed are related to the probable understanding of the cause of peculiar abundance patterns in the Ap and Bp and Am stars, the advances in theory and observations of cool star atmospheres, and the use of synthetic spectra and colors.
