The procedure used to calibrate the scintillation counter of the gamma-ray spectrometer on the satellite 'Cosmos-461' is described. The total detection efficiency, photoefficiency, and photocomponent are determined when the detector is irradiated with an isotropic and parallel flux. This procedure can be used to calibrate more complicated equipment, including active and passive collimators and screens. The angular directivity of detectors is studied, and the feasibility of detector systems which determine the direction of the source with an accuracy of a few degrees is shown. Such systems can be employed in the study of cosmic gamma-ray flares.
