About 650 observations of the satellite 1970-114F (the final-stage rocket of the Molniya 1S communications satellite) are used to determine the satellite's orbit at 14 epochs in the last 20 days of its life by means of the PROP 6 orbit-refinement program. It is noted that during this period, the orbit experienced exceptionally rapid decay, with the apogee height decreasing from 7000 to 1000 km while the perigee height remained near 110 km. The elements obtained for the 14 orbits computed are presented and discussed. It is shown that although the decay rate was more than ten times greater than in any previous orbit determination with the PROP program, good orbits were obtained, with the standard deviation in inclination less than 0.002 deg on eight orbits. The changes in inclination, right ascension of the node, and argument of the perigee are used to measure upper-atmosphere winds and atmospheric oblateness.
