It is noted that Curie (1973) has found compelling evidence for two series of harmonics associated with the 22-year solar magnetic cycle (SMC) and the 11-year solar cycle (SC). This finding is confirmed by applying the maximum-entropy method to 100 annual values of Mayaud's (1973) aa magnetic-activity index for antipodal northern- and southern-hemisphere observatories. The data presented include the observed SMC and SC fundamental periods, their associated harmonics, and the maximum-entropy amplitude spectra for the two series. It is concluded that the results obtained from the aa index support Curie's finding in regard to the two series of harmonics. The only major difficulty is shown to be a strong anomalous peak found at 3.37 years in both spectra.
