A program has been undertaken to obtain a complete sample of bright quasars on the basis of ultraviolet color excess. Spectroscopic examination of candidates selected from two-color Schmidt telescope films has yielded four new quasars brighter than B = 16.5 mag, with the candidate list containing two more previously identified. Magnitudes, color indices, and redshifts are presented for the new discoveries, along with positions and finding charts. Although the sample is not yet complete, these first results suggest that bright quasars have a low surface density.
