The paper uses a uniformly rotating homogeneous spheroid with a frozen-in magnetic field to study the dynamics of radiation dominated explosions under magnetic pinching. It is demonstrated that the model enables a large number of numerical experiments to be performed so that general trends in the solutions can be classified. Finally, it is shown that, even when the energy of the initial magnetic field is only about 10% of the gravitational binding energy, the field is able to collimate some explosions.
