Eleven of 15 helium stars, for which the IR fluxes have been measured between 1.25 and 4.9 microns, have been found to exhibit IR excess. The excess occurs significantly only in the M band (up to 150%), except for HD 37479. The maximum excess appears to be correlated with the maximum magnetic field. It is shown that accretion in the presence of a magnetic field may explain observed abundance anomalies as well as spots, according to different charge-to-mass ratios.
