A parameter-free model for the Crab nebula and the central source is presented, involving calculations of the dynamics and radiation of the relativistic material emanating from the pulsar. According to this model, the pulsar injects electrons and positrons having energies distributed according to a specified power law; if ions are injected by the pulsar, they are energetically insignificant, and the thermal component has a filamentary structure. In addition, the observed pulsed radiation is emitted by extremely relativistic particles traveling from the pulsar out to the nebula, and the wisps, which are a laser phenomenon, result from stimulated optical emission at the inner edge of the nebula.
