Levin's (1956) model of meteor fragmentation is used to estimate the number of terminal meteor flares leading up to the complete destruction of a meteor body. Using four meteors as examples, it is shown that during the terminal stage, a meteor fragments into particles with average masses between 0.00001 and 0.001 g and average radii of about 0.01 cm.
