Redshift surveys of magnitude-limited samples of galaxies show that there are large volumes of space that are devoid of bright galaxies. However, the distribution of low surface brightness, faint objects is not as well determined by these surveys. Over 500 lines of sight through the void at alpha between 23 h and 01 h, delta between 30 deg and 33 deg have been searched for sources of 21 cm emission, using the NRAO 300 foot (91 m) telescope. A source well in front of the back wall of the void was discovered. Follow-up observations with the VLA and the Kitt Peak 4 m telescope indicate that this object is a small, low surface brightness spiral galaxy.
