Consideration is given to the phenomena associated with accretion in
high-mass X-ray binaries fed by a stellar wind. Theoretical studies of
accretion are reviewed and space observations of accretion-powered X-ray
pulsars are examined. Accretion rates, accretion flow patterns, flow
reversals, and the capture of angular momentum are discussed in detail.
