The search and guide system developed for a telescope with a 6-m mirror is described. The altazimuthal mounting of the telescope causes the star field image to rotate, but, by use of a guide with a bent optical axis, the search and guide functions of stars in a rotating field can be combined with image reproduction on a video monitor. The system for a single objective lens involves a one-camera television control scheme combined with photoelectric guidance. Four cases are considered - three involve TV search in the large field and TV correction in the small field and either TV or photoelectric guidance in the small field, while the fourth case is for visual observation. Parameters and a structural diagram of the system are reported.
