Recent advances in gamma-ray astronomy at satellite energies suggest a new look at the experimental technique at high energies. The suggestion that proton induced showers of energy 100 GeV are deficient in Cerenkov light compared with gamma ray showers indicates that gamma ray experiments in the range 10 to 100 GeV would be extremely fruitful. Results of the computer simulations are presented and a qualitative description is given of an experiment which would exploit this feature; this would involve the use of two parallel large reflectors each equipped with multiple detector channels to provide two images of the shower in Cerenkov light.
