Different prescriptions for biased galaxy formation are used to analyze statistical properties of numerical simulations of CDM cosmology. The models studied consider galaxy formation under the assumption of local astrophysical processes. In these models, galaxies are identified according to the density of neighboring particles within a sphere of radius of 0.5-3/sq h Mpc. It is concluded that CDM models where the galaxies are more clustered than the dark matter are not successful in reproducing the automatic plate measuring (APM) angular correlation function. There is a significant lack of power on large scales in these models when compared with observations. A simple merger scheme in models with delta(M)/M of about 1 is found to have reasonable dynamical properties.
